Admissions

We very much welcome new parents to come and have a look around our school and meet our Nicol Mere family. Please phone the school office and arrange a time to meet with Mrs Swift who loves to meet all the preschool children and parents and give them a tour around the school.

Being a community school, we follow the council’s policy on school admissions. For further details, click here or you can pop into school and speak to our office staff. The Local Authority has control over admissions to our school, based on an application basis.

If your child is due to start reception class in September 2024 you need to apply for a school place when admissions opens on 30th September 2023.

Our published admissions number is 60.

If your child was born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020, they will start reception class at the start of the new school year in September 2024.

To be considered for your preferred primary schools, you must apply online or fill in the Wigan Council primary school application form.

The closing date for applications will be in January 2024. Any applications received after this date will be classed as late.

Wigan Local authority will only look at late applications after we have dealt with the applications we receive on time. This means that you are less likely to get a place at the school you want. Please apply on time.
