Digital Leaders
Digital Leaders
At Nicol Mere, our Digital Leaders are a brilliant team of pupils who take on a special responsibility for all things tech. They’re not just helpers—they’re experts in training, developing their digital skills while supporting others and promoting the safe and effective use of technology throughout the school.
What is a Digital Leader?
Digital Leaders are pupil monitors and ambassadors for technology across the school. They assist teachers in lessons, solve technical issues, and often support younger children with their learning. Through specialist training, they grow their confidence and digital expertise—playing a vital part in the school’s digital learning environment.
Their ‘expert role’ allows them to make a real impact, from helping classmates in the classroom to leading by example in promoting online safety and responsible use of technology.
What do Digital Leaders do?
Our Digital Leaders wear many hats! Here are just some of the roles and responsibilities they take on during their time in the role:
- Support teachers and pupils during computing lessons
- Help store, charge, and distribute devices across school
- Promote internet safety and share top tips with others
- Create digital content and resources for the school
- Deliver demonstrations to younger pupils and even parents
- Capture school events by taking photos and videos
- Record and edit interviews for pupil voice surveys
- Assist with digital displays and school assemblies
- Team-teach with staff during computing sessions
- Lead and run computing clubs for KS1 pupils
