School Values

Guiding Every Child’s Journey

As a school community, we have worked together to develop and promote Nicol Mere’s core values, which are at the heart of everything we do. These values are important to our children, staff, parents, and governors, creating a happy, secure, and harmonious environment where every child feels valued and supported. By embedding these values into daily school life, we help children build self-esteem, confidence, and respect for themselves and others. Our approach encourages positive behaviour, fosters a sense of responsibility, and supports the development of the whole child—preparing them to become valued citizens in the wider world.

Each year, our values are introduced in every classroom, where children sign the Values Tree as a commitment to upholding them. They are reinforced through assemblies, classroom discussions, and daily interactions, with visible displays around the school and on our website. When we first launched our school values, children collaborated with Winstanley College students to create a beautiful School Values Tree, symbolising our shared commitment. These values are also embedded in our behaviour and reward policy, with children recognised and celebrated in our Friday Celebration Assembly for demonstrating them. As role models, we all play a vital role in shaping the next generation, ensuring that our children receive the right message to guide them through life.
