Online Safety & Child Protection

Online Safety at Nicol Mere
At Nicol Mere, we are fully committed to ensuring that every member of our school community is a safe, sensible, and responsible user of technology. In an ever-evolving digital world, it is vital that children are equipped with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves online.
We deliver a comprehensive Online Safety Curriculum, woven into both our Computing and PSHE lessons, and reinforced through assemblies and external visits. Our approach helps pupils develop confidence in navigating the internet safely, ethically, and with awareness of potential risks.
We also place strong emphasis on working in partnership with parents and carers, making sure the online safety message remains consistent between school and home. We encourage all families to regularly talk to their children about online safety and appropriate behaviour when using the internet or digital devices.
What should I do if I have an online safety concern?

- Mrs Parkinson – Designated Safeguarding Lead and Online Safety Lead
- Or speak to your child’s class teacher
You can also report any serious concerns directly using the CEOP ‘Report It’ button:
